Emma Roe

Professor Emma Roe is a leading scholar in More-Than-Human Geographies at the University of Southampton. She serves as a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS) and actively supervises PhD students across diverse topics.

Professor Roe's work examines inter-corporeal human-nonhuman relations through three key lenses:

1. Global Food Challenges: Investigating food system resilience, antimicrobial resistance, and the intersection of climate crisis with livestock production.
2. Microbial Ethics: Analyzing ethics in practice across animal research, food production, and pandemic response systems.
3. Knowledge Exchange: Pioneering sensory-based public engagement through award-winning projects like Mouse Exchange and Build-a-Chick.
