Kelly Roe

Professor Kelly Roe serves as Associate Dean of the College of Communication, Media, and the Arts at SUNY Oswego while maintaining her Professor position in the Art and Design Department. Previously Chair of Art and Design since 2019, she has repeatedly held graphic design coordination and academic advisement leadership roles, earning the President's Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.

Her educational background includes:

• MFA in Visual Studies Workshop from SUNY Brockport
• MA in Graphic Design from SUNY Oswego
• BFA in Drawing and Printmaking from SUNY Oswego

Roe's creative research investigates Nature vs Human Nature dichotomies through book arts, using layered metaphors to explore human struggle complexity. She integrates writing, photography, printmaking and graphic design into nonlinear book-form vessels that catalog moments of revelation. Her practice emphasizes tactile surfaces and abstraction to transform personal experiences into artistic investigations.

Professor Roe maintains active exhibition presence with solo shows at Sanford Gallery (MA), Bogigian Gallery (PA), Mercer Gallery (NY), and Arcadian Estate Vineyard (NY), alongside national group exhibitions through her affiliations with MFA Gallery/Circle Gallery (MD), Zea Mays Printmaking Center (MA), The Ink Shop (NY), and Arc Studios & Gallery (CA).

Her scholarly recognition includes:
