Emily Sayers is a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Social Work, Education, and Teacher Education, where she has contributed since 2007. She develops curriculum and innovative support systems for trainees across PGCE, School Direct, and Teach First pathways.
Her doctoral research is jointly conducted at:

- University College London Institute of Education (UCL IOE)
where she received the Bloomsbury Colleges Scholarship and has recently submitted her thesis.
Dr. Sayers specializes in arts education with emphasis on music pedagogy, evidenced by her 2017-18 fieldwork in North India observing indigenous teaching contexts. Her work bridges cross-cultural educational practices with UK teacher training frameworks, focusing on practical curriculum implementation for diverse classrooms.
