Joy Mower

Dr Joy Mower serves as a Senior Lecturer and Course Director for the BA (Hons) Primary Education (Part-time) at Canterbury Christ Church University's School of Social Work, Education, and Teacher Education. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate initial teacher education programs with a focus on flexible study pathways.

Her research and teaching specialisms center on Primary English and Art and Design education, with particular expertise in school-based and part-time teacher training routes. This specialization directly informs her leadership of the part-time primary education program, where she develops curriculum for working students.

As Course Director, Dr Mower oversees the academic delivery and student experience for the part-time pathway, maintaining an office in Fisher (F2.04) on the Canterbury campus where she supports trainee teachers through combined work-study models.
