Emily Bryan is an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of Languages and Literature and Lecturer of Catholic Studies at Sacred Heart University. She has previously taught at Northwestern University, Brown University, West Point, and Dominican College.

Her research focuses on Early Modern Drama, particularly Shakespeare, gender performance, religious theater, and women's writing. She also explores digital humanities through VR/AR technologies in theater and education, transatlantic networks, and antiracist spirituality in dramaturgy.
Recent publications include work on theoretical implications of untitling in Shakespeare's Othello, digital approaches to religious violence discourse, and immersive Shakespeare pedagogy. Her awards include a 2024 Fulbright Fellowship and the 2022 ACT Award for educational innovation.
