Gretchen Minton is a Professor of English at Montana State University, affiliated with the College of Letters & Science. She specializes in Shakespeare studies, early modern drama, ecological adaptation, and performance studies. Her research emphasizes eco-critical approaches to classical texts and their relevance to contemporary environmental issues.

She adapts classical texts for ecological relevance, such as her 2023 Fulbright-funded Salt Waves Fresh, an ecologically inflected Twelfth Night set in North Queensland. She serves as dramaturg for Montana Shakespeare in the Parks and co-founded Montana InSite Theatre.
