Dr. Elizabeth Autry serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and is a board-certified pediatric clinical pharmacist at Kentucky Children’s Hospital. She specializes in pediatric pulmonary, allergy, and immunology care, providing inpatient and ambulatory pharmacy support. She also precepts pharmacy residents and students in pediatric pulmonary and infectious diseases rotations and serves as Assistant Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Pediatrics Pharmacy Residency Program. Her research focuses on cystic fibrosis pharmacotherapy, aminoglycoside dosing, and medication adherence, with over 30 peer-reviewed publications.
Dr. Autry holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, followed by PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Vidant Medical Center and PGY2 Pediatrics Pharmacy Residency at UK Healthcare. She actively participates in pharmacy organizations and has presented at national conferences.
Her research emphasizes optimizing drug therapies for cystic fibrosis patients, including CFTR modulator efficacy, vancomycin dosing strategies, and antimicrobial stewardship. She also investigates mental health comorbidities and nutritional outcomes in pediatric cystic fibrosis populations.
Dr. Autry’s clinical work integrates specialty pharmacy services to improve long-term medication adherence, particularly through health system partnerships. She collaborates on multidisciplinary teams to advance care protocols and has contributed to national trends in pediatric pharmacy residency training.
