Edward Spence is a Senior Lecturer in Moral Philosophy and Professional Ethics at the School of Communication and Creative Industries, Charles Sturt University, Australia. He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Applied Philosophy and Public Ethics (CAPPE) in Canberra and an Affiliate Research Member of the 3TU Centre for Ethics and Technology. His academic career spans roles at the University of Twente, Netherlands, where he worked as a Research Fellow on the international project Evaluation of the Cultural Quality of New Media and the Good Life (2006–2009), funded by the Netherlands National Research Council (NWO).

Spence’s research focuses on ethics in technology, media, and professional domains. His work includes normative evaluations of digital information, advertising ethics, corruption, and the intersection of philosophy with public engagement through his Theatre of Philosophy project.
