Edgar Ernst

Edgar Ernst is a Professor at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management since 2003. He contributes to the Finance and Accounting Group, offering lectures on the Finance Function with a focus on controlling in money markets.

• Educated at the University of Cologne (Diplom-Mathematiker, 1977) and RWTH Aachen (Master of Operations Research, 1980; Ph.D., 1982).
• Practical experience includes consulting at McKinsey & Company (1983), corporate leadership at Quelle GmbH (1986-1990), and executive roles at Deutsche Bundespost POSTDIENST (1990-1992).
• Active in governance as President of the German Financial Reporting Enforcement Panel (2011-2021) and former board/supervisory roles at METRO AG, TUI AG, and VONOVIA SE.
