Dong L Isbister

Dr. Dong L Isbister is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. He holds a Ph.D. in Women's Studies from The Ohio State University. His research focuses on narrative, culture, and representation; race, sexualities, and social justice; and global/transnational feminisms. He also explores space/place/gender dynamics, feminist theory, pedagogy, collective memory, U.S. multiethnic literature, environmental studies, and translation studies.

Dr. Isbister teaches courses including Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies, Space, Place, and Gender, History of Feminist Thought, Black Women's Experience/Feminism, Gender Relations in Cross-Cultural Perspectives, Gender and Popular Culture, and Race, Gender, and Class in the U.S. His work bridges literary, cultural, and social justice frameworks, emphasizing transnational and intersectional approaches.
