About
Diogo Pinheiro is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Brooklyn College, and a member of the doctoral faculty at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York. His research spans multiple areas of mathematics and its applications, particularly in financial and actuarial mathematics, stochastic control, and dynamical systems.
- B.Sc. (2002), University of Porto
- Ph.D. (2006), University of Warwick
Research Interests include:
- Dynamical Systems (Hamiltonian dynamics, classical mechanics, renormalization, applications)
- Stochastic Optimal Control and Stochastic Differential Games
- Financial and Actuarial Mathematics
Publications reflect his expertise in stochastic control and its financial applications, with recent works focusing on optimal consumption-investment problems, life insurance modeling, and differential games under market uncertainty. His earlier work explores Hamiltonian dynamics and polygonal billiards with non-standard reflection laws.
