Demetrius A. Greer

Demetrius A. Greer is an Academic Advisor and Lecturer at the West Virginia University (WVU) College of Creative Arts and Media, where he has served since August 2013. He specializes in supporting first-generation students and academic transformation, and oversees the MOVE (Motivating Others Via Engagement) Peer Mentoring Program. Greer has also taught MDIA 101 online since summer 2016.

• Education: Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology from Kishwaukee College and Northern Illinois University, respectively; Master’s of Divinity from Duke University.

His work focuses on student engagement and mentorship within creative arts and media disciplines. Greer’s prior roles included behavioral health, academic counseling, housing leadership, case management, and drug addiction counseling. He is an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church and serves as pastor of Henderson Chapel AME Church in Wellsburg, WV.
