Deandre Poole

Deandre Poole is a Senior Lecturer and associate member of the graduate faculty in the School of Communication and Multimedia Studies at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). He holds a PhD in Communication and Culture from Howard University, alongside BA and MA degrees in Communication from FAU. His expertise spans Intercultural Communication, Leadership, and Political Communication, with research focused on critical race theory, civic engagement, and political discourse analysis.

Dr. Poole actively contributes to community leadership roles, including President of the United Faculty of Florida—FAU Chapter, Vice Chair of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party, and Chairman of the Coalition for Black Student Achievement. He serves on multiple boards and committees focused on education, criminal justice, and civic engagement.

Awarded the 2016 Community Leadership Award for advocacy in educational equity, he also teaches courses such as Political Communication, Intercultural Theory, and Leadership Communication. His academic and community work bridges theory and practice, empowering students and communities through critical communication skills.
