David Spooner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Georgia's College of Environment + Design (CED). He holds a B.S. in Horticultural Science from North Carolina State University and an M.L.A. from UGA. With 20 years of private practice experience as a licensed landscape architect, his work bridges academic research and professional practice.
His research focuses on sustainable campus design, ecological infrastructure, and the intersection of human behavior with designed environments. Notable projects include a Biodiversity Action Plan for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and a foraging garden design for chimpanzees at Project Chimps sanctuary.
