David R. Pruitt

David R. Pruitt is an Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the Clinical Law Center at the University of Notre Dame Law School since June 2017. Previously, he was a litigation partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in South Bend, focusing on commercial and intellectual property litigation. He holds a B.B.A. and J.D. cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.

His research and professional interests span clinical legal education, commercial litigation strategies, intellectual property disputes, and business torts. He teaches Business Torts at the Law School and maintains active involvement in legal writing pedagogy.

Pruitt is admitted to practice in multiple states and serves as president of the St. Joseph County Bar. He contributes to professional organizations such as the Indiana State Bar Association and American Bar Association. Community roles include past leadership with Big Brothers Big Sisters, American Heart Association, and St. Joseph Grade School.
