David Landon is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Massachusetts Boston and Associate Director of the Andrew Fiske Memorial Center for Archaeological Research. He earned his Ph.D. from Boston University in 1991 and joined UMass Boston in 2000 after serving as an Associate Professor at Michigan Technological University. His research focuses on the archaeology of historic and industrial period sites, environmental archaeology, zooarchaeology, and archaeological science.
Landon has secured over $500,000 in funding from the National Science Foundation, USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution, and other sources. He previously held a Research Fellowship at the Smithsonian's Archaeobiology Laboratory during 1997-98. His work spans interdisciplinary collaborations within archaeological science and environmental studies.
