Dr. David Griffin is a full-time Professor at Nova Southeastern University's Abraham S. Fischler College of Education, holding dual affiliations with the Department of Education and the School of Criminal Justice. He joined NSU in 1996 after over a decade with the Florida Department of Children and Families, where he specialized in psycho-educational evaluations and behavior management programs for exceptional students. His teaching spans graduate and undergraduate courses in Applied Behavior Analysis, Exceptional Student Education, and Classroom Management. He has also taught extensively in the Caribbean, including Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Puerto Rico.
Dr. Griffin earned an Ed.D. in Special Education/Research from Florida International University and an M.A. in Experimental Psychology from the State University of New York at Brockport. He is licensed as a School Psychologist in Florida and holds Board Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis.
His research focuses on teacher job satisfaction, evidence-based classroom management strategies, lesson plan development through assessment data, and fostering effective teaching practices. He actively contributes to NSU's Honors College, serving on the Honors Faculty Coordinating Committee and participating in related events.
