Barbara Packer-Muti, Ed.D., is a Professor in the Department of Justice and Human Services at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), affiliated with the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. She concurrently serves as Executive Director of the Office of Institutional and Community Engagement, overseeing initiatives such as NSU’s Quality Enhancement Plan, surveys, and crisis response efforts. Her roles include co-chairing the University-Wide Crisis Response/Emergency Preparedness Task Force and the Enterprise Risk Management Committee.

Research & Professional Activities: Dr. Packer-Muti specializes in higher education administration, institutional effectiveness, and community engagement. She has led projects on student learning outcomes assessment and contributed to NSU’s Carnegie Classification for community engagement. Her work spans online, blended, and face-to-face teaching across undergraduate to doctoral levels. She has presented nationally on higher education topics and served on the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Audiology Foundation.
Community Involvement: She volunteers as a Broward County Guardian Ad Litem for children in the dependency court system.
