Dr. David George Vequist IV is a Professor of Management at the H-E-B School of Business & Administration, University of the Incarnate Word. He founded and directs the Center for Medical Tourism Research, a unit within the Liza and Jack Lewis Center of the Americas. Prior to academia, he held executive roles at Methodist Healthcare and consulted for Ernst & Young. His expertise spans cross-border healthcare systems, globalization's impact on health systems, and interdisciplinary research in tourism and management.
He earned his Ph.D. and Master of Science from the University of Tulsa and a Bachelor of Arts from Northern Arizona University. His teaching includes courses such as Capstone, Entrepreneurship, and Management.
Research interests include Medical Tourism, Health Tourism, Retirement Tourism, Social Media applications in healthcare, Predictive Analytics, strategic healthcare planning, and Human Resources optimization. His recent publications address innovative healthcare facility strategies, ISO standards in healthcare organizations, and cost-reduction models in healthcare systems.
