David Calabrese is an Associate Professor of Illustration at Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. He holds an MFA in Interactive Design & Game Development from Savannah College of Art and Design (2006) and a BFA in Illustration from Hartford Art School, University of Hartford (2003).
His research focuses on narrative illustration, traditional/electronic games, film, and fantasy illustration for entertainment markets. His industry experience includes studio artistry, animation, and illustration for companies like EA Games and Magic Gaming, with work featured in games such as Shattered Suns and Dragon Defense.
Since 2017, he has taught Drawing For Animation, 3-D Illustration, 3-D Animation, and Animation Project courses. Awards include recognition from The Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles and Connecticut Art Directors Club.
