Daniel Venne is a Professor in the Department of Arts and Humanities at the University of the District of Columbia's College of Arts and Sciences. As an interdisciplinary artist and educator, he teaches courses ranging from foundational design to advanced painting and world art history, while managing programs at UDC's Gallery 42.

Venne's artistic practice spans diverse media including oil, acrylic, watercolor, encaustic, gouache, soft pastel, oil pastel, pen and ink, silverpoint, collage, mixed drawing and painting media, book arts, paper-making, paper marbling, sculpture, and printmaking techniques such as etching, drypoint, aquatint, lithography, linocut, mezzotint, collagraphy, and monotype.
