Daniel Marshall

Associate Professor Daniel Marshall is an Enterprise Fellow in Sexualities and Genders at the University of South Australia. Previously, he held roles at Deakin University (Associate Professor in Writing, Literature & Culture) and La Trobe University (Research Fellow). His research focuses on intersections of gender, sexuality, youth, and justice, with emphasis on LGBTQ+ experiences, archival practices, and social policy. He has collaborated with organizations like the Australian Queer Archives and secured grants from the Australian Research Council and VicHealth.

Education: Berrin/Mt Gambier origins, studied at Flinders University, University of Adelaide, and earned a PhD from the University of Melbourne. His work bridges historical analysis and contemporary youth studies, addressing topics like queer youth resilience, archival storytelling, and decolonial methodologies.

Research collaborations include the Center for LGBTQ Studies (CUNY) and the Weeks Centre for Social and Policy Research (London South Bank University). His teaching spans interdisciplinary gender and sexuality studies programs.
