Professor Mary Lou Rasmussen is a leading academic in the School of Sociology at The Australian National University. Her research focuses on queer theory, feminist theories, and the intersections of gender, sexuality, and climate crisis. She has conducted extensive studies on sexual citizenship, cultural diversity, and health equity across multiple countries. Her work includes co-editing the Palgrave Encyclopedia of Sexuality Education and authoring Reproduction, Kin and Climate Crisis: Making Bushfire Babies, analyzing the impact of Australia’s 2019-20 bushfires on reproductive decisions.
