Cory Heald

Cory Heald is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Media & Information at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). With over 20 years of industry experience in creative fields, he bridges academic instruction with practical expertise in game development and digital media.

• Education: MA in Interactive Design and Game Development from SCAD

His professional journey spans visual sales applications for companies like Herman Miller, Dell, and Cisco Systems, followed by entertainment industry roles with Disney, Zynga, Nickelodeon, and Jakks Pacific Toys. Recently, he led production at Underbite Games, overseeing design, art direction, modeling, and animation for three PC/console titles, while promoting them at major events like PAX and GDC. Cory focuses on mentoring students toward careers in gaming, with personal interests in board game design and disc golf.
