Cornelius Haritz

Cornelius Haritz is a Doctoral Researcher at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg and the Center for Conflict Studies at Philipps University Marburg. His research focuses on conflict transformation, intrastate conflict, social cohesion, and local perspectives on peacebuilding.

• Education: B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Psychology (Georg-August-University Göttingen), M.A. in Peace and Security Studies (Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy Hamburg, IFSH).

Haritz is affiliated with Polis 180 e.V., a grassroots think tank for foreign and European policy, since 2021. His dissertation titled An Empirical Approach to Conflict Transformation in War-torn Societies: What Works and How? examines mechanisms for sustainable peace. He has presented at the IBEI-GIGA Workshop on Security, Conflict, and Peace in Barcelona.
