Colleen Rice is an Instructor in the Department of Health and Community Studies at Western Washington University, focusing on Human Services. She holds an MSW and MPH from New Mexico State University, a BA in Social Advocacy from the University of Washington, and an AA in Liberal Arts from Bellevue Community College.
Her research and professional interests include social welfare policy, global inequity in policy institutions, and community systems within human services. She has extensive experience in clinical social work, case management, and mental health counseling, complemented by roles as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Guatemala, 2004-2006) and AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer (Seattle, 2003). She previously led experiential education courses in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Ukraine with Where There Be Dragons.
