Dr. Nicholas Forge is a Clinical Professor and Director of the MSW Program in the School of Social Work at the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies, Georgia State University. His academic work focuses on systemic inequities impacting LGBTQ-identified youth and young adults, particularly those experiencing homelessness and intersecting child welfare system involvement.
Research Interests: Dr. Forge's research examines labor and sex trafficking among homeless youth, trauma-informed interventions, and policy solutions for marginalized populations. He employs participatory action research and Photovoice methodologies to amplify youth voices.
Publications: His recent work appears in journals like Child Welfare, Children and Youth Services Review, and Journal of Community Psychology. Themes include homeless service delivery, HIV-related social work, and educational pedagogy.
Leadership & Outreach: As Director of Outreach for the RHY Americorps VISTA project, he collaborates with Atlanta service providers to build capacity for LGBTQ homeless youth. He previously served on the board of Trinity Place, a transitional living shelter in New York City.
