Clark Rundell

Clark Rundell is the Professor of Conducting at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester. He is a globally renowned conductor with expertise in diverse genres, from 18th-century works to contemporary music. His career includes collaborations with major orchestras like the BBC orchestras, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and international ensembles such as Klangforum Wien. He has premiered works by composers like Louis Andriessen and Steve Reich, and specializes in cross-genre projects with artists like Elvis Costello and Wayne Shorter.

Prof. Rundell holds a BMusEd from Northwestern University and a Junior Fellowship from RNCM. He leads the Conducting course at RNCM and maintains close ties with the Netherlands Orchestral Academy. Notable collaborations include arranging Louis Andriessen’s operas Rosa’s Horses and Vermeer Pictures, performed at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw. His work bridges classical and contemporary music, emphasizing new commissions and educational outreach with young musicians.
