Claire Barker-Phillips

Claire Barker-Phillips is a Course Leader and Senior Lecturer for the BA(Hons) Fashion Design program at Falmouth University. With a background in textiles and knitwear design, she bridges creative practice with educational leadership.

• Education: MA in Knitwear Design (Royal College of Art), BA(Hons) in Textiles (Buckinghamshire College of Brunel)
• Professional Experience: Freelance designer for Marc Jacobs, Etro, Ted Baker, Marks & Spencer, Boden; in-house designer for Habitat and Wedgewood

Research interests focus on pedagogical techniques for student transition from further to higher education and sustainable practices in textile/fashion design. Her teaching expertise includes knitwear process development, design research, and industry collaboration.
