Dr. Christopher Waldron is an Associate Professor and Director of the Online Master's in Engineering in Structural Engineering program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He has been at UAB since 2008, bringing expertise from both public (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) and private sectors (FIGG Bridge Engineers). His research focuses on bridge design, construction, and maintenance, particularly in reinforced and prestressed concrete structures.
Education: BSCE from Drexel University, MSCE and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech.
Teaching includes structural engineering courses ranging from undergraduate to graduate levels, such as Statics, Mechanics of Solids, Reinforced Concrete Design, and Advanced Structural Analysis. His work addresses innovations in bridge engineering and the impact of heavy truck loads on infrastructure.
