Christopher Schott

Christopher Schott is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Missouri-St. Louis (College of Arts and Sciences). He also serves as the Writing Center Coordinator and a faculty member in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program at the College of Business.

His research focuses on public rhetoric, discourse analysis, communication studies, and writing center scholarship, with a unique emphasis on horror studies and its intersection with rhetorical theory.

His work spans education, discourse analysis, and digital communication, as evidenced by publications on critical discourse analysis, virtual learning environments, and writing center collaboration. Key subfields include political rhetoric, literacy development, and pedagogical integration.

As Coordinator for UMSL’s Writing Center, Dr. Schott fosters campus-wide writing support. He also acts as Associate Chair of Programming and Communication in the English Department and advises doctoral students in the DBA program.
