Jamillah Boyd is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Technology at the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL), affiliated with the College of Business Administration. She holds a BIS in Business & Information Systems and an M.Ed. in Adult and Higher Education, both from UMSL, and is pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science degree at the same institution. Her roles include faculty advisor for the UMSL chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals, mentor in the Information Systems & Technology Mentoring program, and member of the Missouri Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation program.
Her professional focus centers on integrating technology in education, supporting undergraduate learners, and fostering academic mentorship. Prior to her full-time faculty role, she served as senior project coordinator and adjunct faculty in UMSL’s College of Business Administration. Teaching responsibilities include INFSYS 2800: Information Systems Concepts and Applications, beginning January 2024.
Her research explores student experiences with technology in classrooms and the role of social media in information agencies, reflecting her dual interests in pedagogical innovation and informational systems.
