Dr. Christopher Mark Marano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM). He serves as Director of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry & Adult Acute Care and Associate Director of Psychiatry Residency Training for the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt Psychiatry Residency Program. Clinically, he specializes in geriatric psychiatry, treating patients on the Older Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC) and performing Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). His research focuses on neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia, late-life depression, and the neurobiological links between depression and Alzheimer’s disease.
