Christopher Knaus

Christopher Knaus is a Professor of Education at the University of Washington Tacoma and an Affiliate Faculty member at The Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies, University of Washington. A critical race scholar, Dr. Knaus investigates how systemic oppressions (racism, sexism, heterosexism, classism, Islamophobia) shape educational institutions and marginalize communities of color.

• Focuses on transforming urban educational leadership and educator preparation programs
• Centers urban youth voices to create inclusive, socially conscious classrooms
• Collaborates globally in South Africa, the U.S., and the West Coast
