About
Christoph Lange is Professor of International Health/Infectious Diseases at the University of Lübeck and holds additional professorial appointments at the Karolinska Institutet (Sweden), University of Namibia, and University of the Republic of Moldova. He is Head of the Clinical Infectious Diseases Research Center Borstel (FZB) and leads the Clinical Tuberculosis Center of the German Center for Infection Research (DZIF).
Prof. Lange’s research centres on precision medicine against drug-resistant tuberculosis, with particular emphasis on biomarkers that predict therapy failure or relapse-free cure. His group evaluates comprehensive genotypic drug-resistance testing to guide regimen design and employs therapeutic drug monitoring to optimise treatment outcomes in multidrug-resistant TB.
As one of the founders of TBnet, a pan-European research consortium for clinical, translational and public-health TB research, Prof. Lange fosters large-scale collaborative studies across Europe and beyond, aiming to prevent tuberculosis from becoming untreatable.
