About
Christelle Jullien is a Research Director (DR2) at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated with UMR 8041 Center for Research on the Iranian World (CeRMI) since 2023. Her work focuses on the history of Christian communities in the Sassanid Persian Empire (3rd–7th centuries), Syriac literature (especially acts of Persian martyrs), intercultural transmissions, and the history of representations.
Key Research Projects:
- Critical study of the Book of Founders (or Book of Chastity) with collaborators from University of Padua, Ghent, Venice, and Bose.
- History of Mar Giwargis Mihr-Mah-Gushnasp, a Persian monk and martyr of the 7th century.
