Florence Jullien is a Research Director (DR2) at the CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research) since 2024, affiliated with the Center for Research on the Iranian World (CeRMI). Her work focuses on the history of Syriac Christian communities, monasticism, and intercultural transmissions in Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. He holds a doctorate in Religious Sciences (EPHE V, Paris, 2000) and accreditation to direct research (MMSH, Aix-en-Provence, 2007).
Research Interests
Jullien specializes in Syriac monasticism, Christian apocryphal literature, and the cultural and religious dynamics of Eastern Christian communities. His current projects include critical editions of Syriac texts (e.g., the Book of Monastic Founders), studies on intercultural exchanges between East and West, and collaborative research on female monasticism in the Syriac environment.
