Chris Riggs is an Adjunct Associate Professor of Percussion at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM), affiliated with the Department of Music. He holds roles in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Principal Timpani and Section Percussion since 2017. Previously, he was a fellow at the New World Symphony (2012–2015) and performed with orchestras such as the New York Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony.

- BM in Percussion Performance, University of Oklahoma (with a minor in Philosophy)
His teaching focuses on percussion methods, composition/arranging, music therapy, and orchestral percussion roles. He has instructed at Sam Houston State University and various high schools/drumlines. Outside academia, he is an avid outdoors enthusiast.
