Dr. Chia Liu is an Associate Lecturer and researcher at the University of St Andrews' School of Geography and Sustainable Development, affiliated with the Bell-Edwards Geographic Data Institute and Population and Health Research. Her work focuses on social demography, particularly living arrangements, gender division of labor, family structure, child outcomes, and transnational families, employing quantitative methods across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. She supervises PhD students in topics like geriatric suicide in East Asia and socio-demographic determinants.
