Chenggong Sun

Professor Chenggong (Brian) Sun is a Chair in Energy Engineering and Carbon Capture at the School of Chemical Engineering, University of Birmingham. His research focuses on Direct Air Capture (DAC), industrial decarbonisation, CO2 utilization, renewable energy technologies, and engineered porous materials. He leads major projects funded by UK Government agencies and international institutions, including the first-of-a-kind heat-driven DAC Demonstrator plant (funded by BEIS) and the UK’s largest Biochar Demonstrator initiative (funded by BBSRC).
