About
Dr. Shadab Alam is a Research Fellow in Marine Engineering at Teesside University's Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre, focusing on marine decarbonization and sustainable energy technologies. Previously, he worked for 9.5 years at CSIR-IICT, India, advancing clean energy innovations. His expertise includes Blue/Green Hydrogen Production, Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU), and waste-to-energy systems.
Education: PhD in Sorption Enhanced Chemical Looping Processes (CSIR-IICT, 2022), MEng in Chemical Engineering (NIT Warangal, 2013), BEng in Chemical Engineering (B.I.T. Sindri, 2011).
Research interests center on decarbonization technologies, with 10 high-impact publications (avg. IF 6.8), 2 patents, and a book chapter on biogas upgrading. His work emphasizes CO2 capture, hydrogen production, and AI-driven process modeling.
Current projects include the Northern Ireland/Great Britain Marine Decarbonisation initiative. Collaborations involve developing CO2 capture via phase change amines and hybrid sorbent-catalysts for hydrogen production.
