Charis Ioannou

Charis Ioannou is an Assistant Professor at the School of Education, Department of Music and Dance, University of Nicosia. He specializes in saxophone performance and jazz composition, with extensive international performance and teaching experience.

His research and creative work focus on jazz idioms, cross-cultural musical collaborations, and contemporary performance techniques. He has performed globally in venues across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, and led the BopCy quartet with Cypriot musicians.

Ioannou actively engages in music education through workshops in Cyprus, Lebanon, Greece, and Italy, and participates in international jazz programs like the American Embassy's Jazz Futures initiative.
