Celeste Flores

Celeste Flores is a Senior Adjunct Instructor in the English Department at the University of Detroit Mercy's College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences. With an M.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John's College and a B.A. in English from Keene State College, she brings interdisciplinary expertise to writing instruction.

Her teaching philosophy emphasizes developing writing as both a professional competency and creative outlet, drawing on her background in both applied science (Dental Hygiene) and liberal arts. She has taught literature and composition at multiple institutions including Emerson College and Rhode Island College before joining Detroit Mercy.

Ms. Flores specializes in American literature and creative writing, having authored poetry collections and a novel. Her pedagogical approach combines high academic standards with individualized student support to foster writing proficiency across diverse disciplines and career paths.
