Erin Bell is Writing Center Director and Adjunct Instructor in English at the University of Detroit Mercy's College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences. She teaches academic writing, composition, and literature courses including African American and American literature surveys. Previously at Wayne State University and Marygrove College, she joined Detroit Mercy in 2022 after careers in journalism and conference organization.
Research Focus:
Her scholarship examines feminist theory, posthumanism, and popular culture intersections with emphasis on gender, sexuality, and AI in science fiction. Current work explores ethical implications of generative writing technologies and narrative representations of identity.
