Cassandra Bechard

Cassandra Bechard, D.M.A., is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands at University of Northwestern - St. Paul. She conducts concert bands and teaches music while maintaining an active role as artistic director for the Seward Concert Band in Minneapolis.

Her research interests include wind ensemble pedagogy, conducting techniques, and music education methodology. She presents regularly at national music education conferences and serves as clinician for middle and high school band programs.

Education includes a Doctor of Musical Arts in wind band conducting from University of Minnesota, Master's in bassoon performance from Bowling Green State University, and dual Bachelor's degrees in music education and performance from Central Michigan University.
