Carrie MacLeod, PhD, APRN-BC '83, is the Director of Undergraduate Nursing and Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing at Saint Anselm College, part of the Jean School of Nursing & Health Sciences. She holds a BSN from Saint Anselm College (1983), MSN (1993), and PhD (2008) from Boston College's William F. Connell School of Nursing.
Her professional experience includes roles as a Nurse Practitioner in cardiac surgery settings, Clinical Instructor at Boston College, and Staff Nurse in critical care units. She has taught courses like Critical Care Nursing and Health Assessment.
Research focuses on interprofessional collaboration, cardiac nursing care, and family caregiver dynamics, supported by grants from NIH INBRE, NINR R01, and the Joyce C. Clifford Organization. She has authored textbooks, book chapters, and over 28 presentations. Awards include the McCarthy Faculty Member of the Year (2019) and the Daisy Award (2024).
