Caroline Sierra, PharmD, is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy. She holds dual appointments in the Pharmacy Practice department. Her primary roles include academic leadership and teaching courses in pediatric pharmacotherapy, immunizations, and pharmacy residency preparation. Dr. Sierra earned her PharmD from the University of New Mexico and completed PGY1 and PGY2 pediatric pharmacy residencies at Loma Linda University, where she also practices in the Children’s Hospital. She is a Board Certified Pediatric Pharmacist (BCPPS) with expertise in pediatric infectious diseases and academic pharmacy development.
Her research focuses on pediatric pharmacotherapy, antimicrobial stewardship, and educational innovations in pharmacy training. Notable projects include evaluating residency preparation programs, optimizing immunosuppression protocols for pediatric transplant patients, and improving adherence to prophylactic treatments for respiratory and infectious diseases.
