Carla Simone

Carla Simone is a Visiting Professor at the University of Siegen's Department of Information Systems and New Media. Previously, she served as Full Professor of Computer Science at the University of Milano-Bicocca until 2015. Her research integrates theoretical and empirical investigations to design technological supports for human activities, with applications in cooperative work, healthcare, ageing, cultural heritage, and networked communities.

Her work emphasizes technology malleability and end-user agency. She has led European and Italian research projects and published extensively in journals, books, and conferences. A founding member of the European Association for Socially Embedded Technologies, she has chaired ACM conferences (CSCW, Group) and serves on the Editorial Advisory Board of the CSCW Journal.
