Caitlin Cherry

Caitlin Cherry is an Assistant Professor of Painting and Printmaking at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts. Her multidisciplinary practice integrates painting, sculpture, and digital media to explore representations of Black femininity and the commodification of art.

Research interests focus on the intersection of digital manipulation, cultural critique, and art object commodification. She founded Dark Study, an online platform for radical art and theory education.

Awards include prestigious residencies and fellowships supporting her innovative work exhibited at institutions like the Brooklyn Museum and Studio Museum in Harlem.
