Brian Krinke is an Assistant Professor of Music - Upper Strings at Colorado Mesa University (CMU), where he teaches violin, viola, and composition, and conducts the CMU Orchestra. He serves as concertmaster of the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra. Krinke holds a Master of Music (MM) from The Juilliard School and a Bachelor of Music (BM) from The Curtis Institute of Music, studying violin with Szymon Goldberg, Felix Galimir, and Joel Smirnoff.
His performing career includes solo appearances with the Minnesota Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic, and others, alongside collaborations with renowned artists like Orli Shaham and Simone Dinnerstein. A new music specialist, he has premiered and recorded works by composers such as Milton Babbitt and Caroline Steinberg, with recordings on the Naxos label. Krinke’s compositions, including Children's Games and Six Concert Etudes, have been performed nationally. He is also a prizewinning pianist, having won international competitions and toured Central America.
Honors include recognition from the Stravinsky Award and Young Keyboard Artists Association competitions. Krinke’s future projects include a recital featuring his arrangements of Rachmaninov’s Etudes-Tableaux at Colorado Mesa University.
